Continuation from previous blog. Refer to home page. Structured finance is a term that designates a sector of finance where risk is transferred via complex legal and corporate entities. It’s not as confusing as it sounds. Take a mortgage-backed security (MBS), for example. The mortgage is issued by a bank (the loan originator) which then sells the mortgage to a brokerage where it is chopped up into tranches (pieces of the loan) and sold in a pool of mortgages to investors that are looking for a rate that is greater than Treasurys or similar investments. The process of transforming debt (“the mortgage”) into a security is called securitization. At one time, the MBS was a reasonably safe investment because the housing market was stable and there were relatively few foreclosures. Thus, the chance of losing one’s investment was quite small.

In the early years of the Bush administration, Wall Street took advantage of the gigantic flow of capital coming into the country ($700 billion per year via the current account deficit) by creating more and more MBSs and selling them to foreign banks, hedge funds and insurance companies. It was real gold rush. Because the banks were merely the mortgage originators, they didn’t believe their own money was at risk, so they gradually lowered lending standards and issued millions of loans to unqualified applicants who had no job, no collateral and a bad credit history. Securitization was such a hit, that by 2005, nearly 80 percent of all mortgages were securitized and the traditional criteria for getting a mortgage was abandoned altogether. Subprimes, Alt-As and ARMs flourished, while the “30 year fixed” went the way of the Dodo. Lenders were no longer constrained by “creditworthiness”; anyone with a pulse and a pen could get approved. The mortgages were then shipped off to Wall Street where they were sold to credulous investors.

“The Winter of 2008-2009 will prove to be the winter of global economic discontent that marks the rejection of the flawed ideology that unregulated global financial markets promote financial innovation, market efficiency, unhampered growth and endless prosperity while mitigating risk by spreading it system wide.” Economists Paul Davidson and Henry C.K. Liu “Open Letter to World Leaders attending the November 15 White House Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy”

The global economy is being sucked into a black hole and most why. The whole problem can be narrowed down to two words; “structured finance”.I’ll explain in detail…interested, comment on what you just read.I really would like to hear from those interested to know what’s in the tank for americans for 2008-2009.

     Slick Willy’s Wonka

The Clinton Administration was involved in protecting CIA-sponsored shipments of arms to the Iran Contras and of cocaine from Colombia, through the Mena, Arizona airport.  Could the Republicans get him on that? Not! Because that could lead back to them (a la Oliver North) and George H.W. Bush, the real kingpins of the 80’s crack trade.   Mena became Clinton’s ticket to the Whitehouse. How? See, Clinton had the goods on Bush and Bush had the goods on Clinton; with their shared secret, they knew one wouldn’t rat out the other. Clinton could then become president and could be trusted not to take  the lid off the October Surprise. He could have used the Bush regime’s war crimes in Central America and Iraq, the dealings with Saddam prior to his invasion of Kuwait, the CIA drug business.  What Bush had on Clinton his connection to the gateway for Colombian drugs to enter the US via the airport in Mena.

However, the Republicans still hated Clinton and wanted to bring him down, which they tried with a dance called Whitewater.  But they knew that taking Slick Willy down with Whitewater also meant that Bush 41 would have to go down. They needed an alternative and choose to do an expose about Clinton’s dick, which became fodder for the puritan right wingers.

Having the world revolve around the O.J. Simpson trial was not enough, the  scandal achieved the exact results it wanted and that was to; have Americans stoop to its lowest point in the crusade to stupefy the minds of Americans

For his full term as President, the Republicans wielded old Dipshit “Wild Bill” s dick as an alternative for their own lack of seeable politics and the media played along.

Wild Bill could have just ended the whole Lewinski scandal simply by saying “none of your business who sucks my dick or who I screw.”  Any self-respecting person would have done that…instead of “I did not have  sex with that woman” he chose the hijacking of his own dick!

But that would not have appeased the media. After the Starr Report was presented to Congress on 9/11/1998,  Clinton needed to set in motion a distraction from the Republican’s and the media’s obsession with his sexual exploitations and the bombings of the US Embassies in Africa provided just the vehicle.  In retaliation for the bombings that occurred in August, CIA Director George Tenet selected three targets for Clinton to consider: 1.  A pill factory in Sudan that was unrelated to the terrorist attacks;  2.   A base in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan that was not training Al-Qaeda but rather Pakistani fundamentalists, and 3. Was a base that Osama Bin Laden was camped out but had just left 1-day before US forces came in.  Bill Clinton and Hillary are some of the most notorious criminals in modern day history, someday they will have to answer to the death of Commerce Secretary Ron Brown and 34 others that died in a so called plane crash in Croatia. If you will; please read a piece from Jack Cashill as he knows it and how he tells of the relationship between Bill Clinton, Enron and Ron Brown’s death. Ron Brown was to be Bill Clinton’s successor after Clinton’s first term, and Clinton knew it . He was the original Barack Obama, because he would’ve been the first black president. Through his position as the Secretary of Commerce, he had many dealings with foreign leaders and was versed in foreign policy. His integrity and compassion was highly respected both nationally and internationally.

Nigeria the largest producer and exporter of oil in africa

Every oil-rich country in Africa that has established ties with America is engaged in civil war, or is led by corrupt dictators, with its people living in abject poverty. It would seem that US intervention increases the political and social tensions rather than resolves the  long standing conflicts. The millions of dollars that are being generated through the extraction of oil is going into the pockets of the extremist government leaders of those countries and the corporate boardrooms of the oil companies. According to an April 2003 article by Suraya  Dadoo  When Uncle Sam Comes Calling in Africa Nigeria, the largest  producer and exporter of oil in Africa, has pumped over $300 billion dollars worth of oil over the last 40 years, but 70% of its population continues to live on less than $1 a day * this is spite of the Nigerian government collecting an estimated $14 billion a year in oil revenue*,.  To quote Stanford University political scientist Terry Lynn Karl, “We don’t have a single example of oil leading to long term positive outcomes in developing countries.” In this same article, Dadoo states that the US oil company Exxon stands to earn almost $4.6 billion dollars from Africa’s largest oil project, the Chad-Cameroon pipeline, a project that has been the subject of criticism for its environmental damage and the fact that there is no accountability on the part of Exxon or the two countries as to how much money these countries stand to earn from this pipeline. Without this documentation, the very people who should be benefiting from such a venture have no way to hold their governments accountable.  In another example, ever since oil was discovered off the tiny African island of Sao Tome and Principe, the money generated from oil production has pushed the country into a near dictatorship with the revenues going to the president as well as multinational oil companies. (N.W. Douma) Why isn’t anyone asking why US military might and dollars are not being used to benefit the over 700 million people on the African continent instead of its own self-interests?

The US has engaged in military expansionism in Africa since the September 11 attacks on the pretense of fighting terrorism. The targeted areas include the Horn of Africa where the US has established its largest military base in Djibouti, which is strategically located near the Arabian Peninsula. In testimony at the hearing on “Fighting Terrorism in Africa” before the House Subcommittee on Africa, Princeton N. Lyman, in outlining the steps for the US fight against terrorism, emphasized that an effective worldwide campaign couldn’t take place without addressing the threat of terrorism in Africa. He advocated a “sustained focus on east Africa” when setting anti-terrorism budgets while acknowledging that the US Department of Defense was prepared to assist oil-producing nations on the West Coast of Africa in setting up security against attacks on the off-shore drilling facilities being established along the coast. (Lyman, CFR).

As the dynamics of world trade resuscitates  considerable interest in the discovery of oil in Africa, the United States government has reasserted its interest in and quest for  control over  what it claims to be the most powerful and useful resource in the world. The United States has already put the wheels in motion for war with Africa since the recent discovery of oil.  Currently, there is fighting going on with Zimbabwein rebels against US corporations over oil, because Zimbabwe refuses to do business with the US— there is a lack of trust in the US when it comes to honesty and integrity over oil in this Bushit administration.  There is more oil in western Africa than in all of the Persian Gulf.  The U.S. has stationed ships off the west coast of Africa to establish a military presence, signifying the financial interest that America has as part of its strategic plan for piracy and tactical overthrow, which is what the U.S. has been conjugating for a long time, dating back to when the real “Tricky Dick” Cheney was Chairman and CEO of Haliburton.   To illustrate the basis for these statements…  (1) United States national energy policy according to a report from Vice President (Tricky Dick) Richard Cheney confirms that Africa would be the fastest growing oil source for the United States; (2) In February 2002, Walter Kansteiner, Assistant Secretary of State for African affairs stated “African oil has become an appealing national strategy for the United States”.

In 2003, according to United States security analyst Michael Klare, there were several warnings given concerning Washington’s potential implication on the African continent with regards to where the next oil conflict will be after Iraq.  Of course, if America selects another oil family as they’ve done in the past with other oil magnates, this is surely without doubt a clear cut sign. Bush and Clinton politics of war will be fought on the shores of Africa which would then involve China as a major component…  This is the only interest the United States has in being in Africa.  The United States has been there for nearly seventy five years on what Americans call peacekeeping missions, but Africans are dying of hunger and disease in the same record numbers today as they have in the past, all under the watchful eye of United States

RAPIST TRICK

Know what money you are carrying. You will see why as you read.

Be sure every woman is aware of this M.O. Share it with your wife and daughters. Know what money you are carrying…

This was the first I have heard of a scheme like this…..

I wanted to pass it along. Be safe!

Criminals are coming up with craftier, less threatening methods of attack, so we have to be extra cautious.

          Read on…

I live in Alexandria VA but I often work in Lafayette, LA staying with friends when I’m there. As you know from America ’s Most Wanted TV program, as well as the news media, there is a serial killer in the Lafayette area. I just want to let you know about an ‘incident’ that happened to me a few weeks ago, and could have been deadly.

At first I didn’t go to the police or anyone with it because I didn’t realize how serious this encounter was. But since I work in a jail and I told a few people about it, it wasn’t long before I was paraded into Internal Affairs to tell them my story.

It was approximately 5:15 a.m. in Opelousas La. I had stayed with a friend there and was on my way to work.

I stopped at the Exxon/Blimpie Pie station to get gas. I got $10 gas and a Diet Coke. I took into the store two $5 bills and one $1 bill (just enough to get my stuff). As I pulled away from the store, a man approached my truck from the back side of the store (an unlit area). He was an ‘approachable-looking’ man (clean cut, clean shaven, dressed well, etc).

He walked up to my window and knocked.. Since I’m very paranoid and ‘always looking for the rapist or killer,’ I didn’t open the window.

I just asked what he wanted. He raised a $5 bill to my window and said, ‘You dropped this.’ Since I knew I had gone into the store with a certain amount of money, I knew I didn’t drop it.

When I told him it wasn’t mine, he began hitting the window and door, screaming at me to open my door, and insisting that I had dropped the money! At that point, I just drove away as fast as I could.

After talking to the Internal Affairs Department and describing the man I saw, and the  way he escalated from calm and polite to angry and volatile…it was determined that I could have possibly encountered the serial killer myself.

Up to this point, it had been unclear as to how he had gained access to his victims, since there has been no evidence of forced entry into victim’s homes, cars, etc. And the fact that he has been attacking in the daytime, when women are less likely to have their guard up, means he is pretty BOLD.

So think about it…what gesture is nicer than returning money to someone that dropped it?????

How many times would yo u have opened your window (or door) to get your money and say thank you… because if the person is kind enough to return

something to you, then he can’t really be a threat….can he????

Please be cautious! This might not have been the serial killer… but anyone that gets that angry over someone not accepting money from them can’t have honorable intentions. The most important thing to note is that his reaction was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! A total surprise! But what might have happened if I had opened my door? I shudder to think!

Forward this to everyone you know…maybe they can be as fortunate as I was!

P.S. Ladies, really DO forward this to EVERYONE you know. Even if this man wasn’t a serial killer, he looked nice, he seemed polite, he was apparently doing an act of kindness, but HE WAS NOT A NICE PERSON!!!

Men, send it to all the women in your life.

Now that Barack has been elected president by a landslide and has received a mandate to govern, (yes, a mandate, having earned more popular votes than any presidential candidate in history) we must be careful not to let the media excoriate him for what he “doesn’t do”. He ran on the platform that this government belongs to the people and as such, we, the people must stay active in holding our representatives accountable. Barack is one person, and just like he didn’t win without us, he can’t be successful in his programs without us. We must remember that the government exists BECAUSE of the american people, not the other way around. We must stay involved and informed and be ready to support the programs that Obama puts forth. It is inevitable that the media will eventually turn into his worst critics, dogging his every move and holding unrealistic expectations for him to solve all the world’s problems in four years….we must be vigilant to not let that happen. Obama is AMERICA”s president, not just Black America’s president. Just as people from all races, creeds and religions supported his campaign, these same people must stand behind him and support his administration. What will you do?

Is  America Ready for a Black President? (Dumbass in the White House)

As we look at the polls for presidential candidates one poll reads” Is America ready for a black president” “Is America ready for a female president?” It’s that kind of climate that lets us know that America has serious problems…to think that a white male is the only one that has the capacity to lead or serve as commander-in-chief, regardless of  how dumb he is, (i.e. in the case of current lame dummy(my emphasis is on the lame and dumbass part of that). There was no poll to ask, is America ready for a dumbass? Or a retard?; just give us a white man no matter how mentally challenged he is …as long as it’s not a Black man or a Woman.  No!there was no poll to ask that question. Cheney and his cronies would not have been able to achieve their objectives of robbing the American people or crash landing the economy if there was an independent thinker in the White House; they just felt it is better to let a dumbass run the country and the world rather than somebody that really had some smarts about them, rather to let a woman or a Blackman take it for a try, after all, Rome was not built in a day and this country and its government was not built right the first time.

A little known fact is that there has already been 5 black presidents (read J.A. Rogers’ The Five Negro Presidents). There are sworn affidavits and historical references to support this claim.

We know that none of the thirty eight others (white) making all the decisions in governing these united states while mixing abroad their western influence, have been successful at solving the serious problems that America  has; under the  “White” man all he has done with that power is abuse, control,  manipulate, oppress, suppress ,depress and start wars and rumors of war; having mastery over the air with his airplanes and having dominion over the creeping thing by ruling with his armies , while at the same time having dominion over and under the sea with his navy ships. His only desire is to control everything and everybody, and he’s still not satisfied.
